Voluntary menopause and gender pay gap reporting
From April 2026, employers with 250 or more employees will be encouraged to publish equality action plans setting out how they intend to reduce gender pay gaps and support employees experiencing menopause.
Although these plans will be voluntary at first, the government has indicated that it intends to make them mandatory by spring 2027, subject to further legislation.
The change is designed to move employers beyond simply reporting gender pay gap data and towards taking practical steps to address inequality in the workplace.
