Health & Safety Management for Managers

This introductory course gives an overview of Health & Safety law from a Managers perspective focusing on their responsibilities to their employees. It can be tailored to your particular businesses needs and can include an overview of the following: civil and common law; risk assessments; communication and consultation, manual handling assessments; COSHH assessment; fire safety awareness; accident prevention and management; human behaviour and safety.

Health & Safety Awareness for Employees

This introductory course covers many of the topics listed above, but focuses on the employees own responsibilities.

Risk Assessment

This introductory course gives an overview of the legal responsibilities an employer has when assessing risk in the workplace. It provides an introduction to: Health & Safety Law; types of risk assessment; 5 step risk assessment process; hazard spotting; implementing control measures; assessing risk and prioritising actions; recording assessments and informing your staff; practical exercises.

Manual Handling

The course objective is to give employees an understanding of safe manual handling practices and principles. It will cover an employers’ legal responsibilities and an overview of manual handling regulations. On the practical side, it will introduce delegates to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved, the controls available and the correct techniques involved in manual handling. Delegates will be assessed during the course and, where possible, observed completing manual handling techniques. Course content includes:
