Government publishes guidance on fathers’ new statutory right to time off for ante-natal appointments and on shared parental leave and pay
The Government has published a guide for employers on the new statutory right to time off to accompany a pregnant woman to ante-natal appointments. The new right, which comes into force on 1 October 2014 and is provided for in the Children and Families Act 2014, is available to both employees and qualifying agency workers. The Government has also published a new technical guide for employers on shared parental leave and pay. The new guidance covers technical aspects for employers to consider when implementing policies on shared parental leave and shared parental pay.
